Somerville Fire Department 175th Anniversary
  June 19, 2010 - Today, members were in attendance at Somerville Fire Department for their 175th Anniversary Celebration. Rescue 56, Scuba 56 and Engine 561 were entered into the competition to be judged for best appearing fire apparatus. The event started with a parade through downtown Somerville and ended at Engine Co.1 for food, drinks and live music. After everyone was settled, the trophies were handed out. Rescue 56 took 3rd place for Best Appearing Fire Rescue. All members in attendance enjoyed the day. We would like to thank Somerville Fire Department for inviting us and also congratulations on making 175 years of service to the community.
 
Working Truck Fire 5/23/2010
  On May 23rd, 2010 at 2:00AM Station 56 and Station 44 was dispatched to a working truck fire. 2 dump trucks were involved upon arrival. Station 56 and Station 44 extinguished the blaze. Crews were on scene for approximately an hour and a half working with the Franklin Township Fire Prevention Bureau. Thanks to E. Franzyshen for the video.

 
Congratulations
  To Todd and Jill Brown on their new baby girl. Addison Quinn Brown was born January 25th. She was 7lbs. 8oz.

Annual Santa Claus Ride . . .
 


From December 17th thru 20th Somerset Fire & Rescue Co. Co. #1 will be bringing Santa around to all the neighborhood kids!

12/17 Thursday starts 630pm- Santa will be at the Quailbrook Golf Course the entire evening. 12/18 Friday starts 600pm – Stratford, London, Eton, Steeplechase, Barclay, Richmond, Gloucester, Canterbury Circle, Ellison, Hughes, Larsen, Renfro, Tripplet, Rosewood, Chandler, Sherman, Summerall, Landry, Webster and Vince. 12/19 Saturday starts 430pm - Wexford, Stoneleigh, Rue Cezzane, Rue Matisse, Monet, Renoir, Emerson, Cambridge, Fairfield, Deerfield, Academy and Bedford, Easton North Apartments and Oakcroft. Santa is not able to stop on DeMott, so residents are invited to come to any of the side streets to visit with Santa. 12/20 Sunday starts 330pm- Hollywood, Dellwood, Rue Chagall, Piscaso and DiVinci, Willow, Walnut, Culver, Lakeside, and John E. Busch. Residents of the numbered streets in between should come out to a main street to visit with him. Schedule subject to change due to inclement weather or other emergencies. New Road School
  Somerset Fire & Rescue is proud to announce a partnership with New Road School of Somerset ( www.newroadschool.com ). Starting in October 2009, students from the school will be coming to the firehouse with job coaches to help them gain job skills through hands on experience.
